Designing a Reliable Robot Power System

A reliable robot power system begins with a current budget for every motor, computer, sensor and accessory. Separate noisy motor power from sensitive logic where practical, use correctly rated protection, and verify connector and cable current limits.

Start with operating states

Estimate idle, normal and stall or peak demand. Size batteries and regulators for the realistic peak while confirming thermal limits. Emergency-stop and safe shutdown behaviour should be designed before final wiring.
